Like other charities, our Trustees and members of staff, have had to make big adjustments over the last couple of weeks. We are now all working from home and will continue to be there for you during these uncertain times so please do contact us if you think we can be of help. We will endeavour to keep things as normal as possible but please bear with us if we do fall short very occasionally. Meetings
Sadly, we had to cancel the Cardiff meeting and have now put all other meetings, planned for 2020, on hold. Please be assured that when things improve, as they will, Paul and Jayne will be ready to start again but, of course, we have no idea yet, when that will be.
Summer Draw
As a registered lottery we are obliged to complete this. Thank you to those who have responded to date. There are likely to be some delays banking cheques and processing card payments due to the current situation.
Fundraising
A sizeable amount of our annual income comes from our very much appreciated fundraisers, either organising events with family and friends or taking part in sponsored runs, cycling events and challenges. While we hope all events will happen later in the year and everyone will still be able to take part, these few months without fundraising will materially affect us and we will be forced to access our limited reserves that we were hoping to spend on our charitable aims.
It’s going to be a tough year for many, but as I said in the last newsletter we are thankful that, over the years, the Board of Trustees, have kept a close check on our finances and fortunately we can continue the charity’s key activities for the time being. However, we are a small charity with no regular or statutory income and rely on the generosity of our members and supporters. If you can, please continue to give a regular, or one-off donation, or join one of our other schemes such as the 200 Club.
